Job Opportunities at the Villa! - Full and Part-Time
The Villa at Saint Antoine, a top quality assisted
living facility located in North Smithfield, RI, is embarking on an
exciting new level of service. In the coming weeks, the Villa will open
an innovative, non-secured, assisted living dementia care unit/program (DCU/P).
Residents of this new unit/program will enjoy activities and personal
care targeted to their needs, but will, in addition, be integrated into
the general life of the Villa to the extent that their individual
capacities allow. In creating this unit/program, best practices
developed in model programs and tested research will be followed.
We are looking for staff for full or part-time for all shifts and
weekends. Details are given below.

Note: Relevant training and experience in related areas will be
considered for these positions. Training for suitable candidates can be

1. DEMENTIA CARE ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR
Job Summary
• Provide dementia care activities and supervision for dementia care
unit/program residents.
• Coordinate participation be unit/program residents in dementia care
and general assisted living activities according to residents’
capacities.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team.
• Interact with resident families and Responsible parties.
• Integrate unit/program activities and services with appropriate Villa
services.
• Maintain relevant resident records and tracking log.
• Successfully complete required training and updating.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Documented training in dementia care activities programming
• Capacity to positively interact with related staff, resident families
and responsible parties.
• Experience and/or training in dementia care activities.
• Basic computer literacy.
Education, Experience and Physical Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Documentation of training in activities for dementia care.
• Work experience and/or training in the above areas.
2. DEMENTIA CARE ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATES
Job Summary
• Provide dementia care activities under the supervision of the DCU/P
Activities Coordinator for unit/program residents.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team.
• Interact with resident families and Responsible parties..
• Maintain relevant resident records and tracking log.
• Successfully complete required training and updating.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Documented training in dementia care activities preferred.
• Capacity to positively interact with related staff, resident families
and responsible parties.
• Experience and/or training in dementia care preferred.
• Basic computer literacy.
Education, Experience and Physical Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Work experience and/or training in the above areas.
teamHEALTH (train, employ,
advance, mentor)
teamHEALTH is a Certified Nursing Assistant training and
career laddering program, funded through a three-year community impact
grant from the United Way of Rhode Island with additional support from
the Ocean State Charity Trust, the Blanche Walsh Trust, and Northern
Rhode Island Area Health Education Center (nriAHEC).
In its one and a half years of operation, the program has graduated and
employed 94 Certified Nursing Assistants, and sponsored six people to
become Certified Medication Technicians, 15 on a career path to Licensed
Practical Nurses, and three to Registered Nurses.
In order to qualify for the FREE program, people must attend an
informational session (see Events Listings for the next scheduled
session), and go through an extensive pre-assessment and interview
process.
